Hand-crafted, impeccable works of timeless art.
That’s what you’ll find at the Louvre. Here you will find some examples of my work in the world of ink and paper.

Sights and Sounds
Debut EP from the Winnipeg indie/pop/punk hybrid (perhaps a bad description) Sights and Sounds. Band friend and ubiquitous Winnipeg photographer Jon Schledewitz provided a series of eerie winter black & white and sepia photos for the minimalist packaging, which I matched up with appropriate typographic style.

Subhumans “New Dark Age Parade”
A band who are truly amongst the originators of punk music in Canada in the late 70’s, the Subhumans needed CD and LP packaging for their first studio album in 25 years. With an image for the album cover already decided upon (from a 1940’s Kellog’s recipe book), the band wanted the rest of the imagery for the package to follow that lead. Many of the graphics inside were taken from 1940’s war propaganda posters produced by the U.S. and Canadian governments. The cover typography is an updated take on that which appeared on their classic 1980 album Incorrect Thoughts.

Mondragón Bookstore & Coffeehouse
Mondragón is Winnipeg’s only collectively-run, all-vegan restaurant and radical bookstore. So as a vegan radical-type, it was only a natural fit for me to work with them when they needed a new menu. That, and the fact that I was in there almost every day for about 10 years. The finished menu is 2x 11″ by 17″ panels, colour laser output on card stock, then laminated.

Propagandhi “Potemkin City Limits”
Propagandhi are a progressive thrash band from Winnipeg, MB. I created both Digipack CD and gatefold LP layouts — plus an 18″ × 24″ poster — for their 2005 album “Potemkin City Limits.” I worked collaboratively with the band in finding original artwork to use throughout all three layouts. The two “centrepieces” of the packaging are paintings by Eric Drooker and Sue Coe, and the CD features a painting by band member Todd Kowalski. The whole project was printed on uncoated 100% recycled paper (most all of it post-consumer) using vegetable-based inks.
Completed September 2005 for Propagandhi
