Let me give you a little bit of a history lesson …
But first, I’ll tell you about this thing I do called Amphibian.
Amphibian is a graphic design and digital construction empire with humble beginnings in a one bedroom apartment in Winnipeg, MB, Canada. Today it has grown to have offices in … well, one city (a different one bedroom apartment, now in upscale and cosmopolitan Halifax, NS) … and employ over … well, just one person worldwide. Nonetheless! Print Magazine’s 2006 Digital Design Annual called Amphibian “… a design agency we’ve never heard of.”*

I’ve been designing and building web sites, posters, CD packaging, business cards, and other various forms of communication in the virtual and physical world since … oh sheesh, must be years now. Being self-taught, I’ve learned my craft through hands-on (the keyboard) problem-solving, and I continue to expand my versatility and hone my expertise through daily experience and self-education. Put another way, I didn’t get no schoolin’, so I learned the ropes on the streets of this town, and can hold my own in a fight.†
Here’s the short-list of what I would be happy to help you with:
- From-scratch design for a brand-new endeavour: from information architecture to design mockup; HTML/CSS template coding to CMS installation and training, and even hosting.
- Redesign an existing web site in need of a new look and feel (including some or all of the steps mentioned above).
- Transform a finished web site design from screen mockups into tightly-coded, semantic, standards-loving HTML/CSS.
- Update an existing web site template with clean, semantic and standards-compliant HTML/CSS to reduce page weight and improve accessibility and longevity.
- Design and build an HTML/CSS template for your personal or company blog.
- Again, this is just the short-list, so in the interests of brevity I will stop here. But I could go on (and frequently do).
Those with few resources who are working for peace and justice in this sad world have been known to get quoted on a sliding scale according to need, funding, and my own personal passion for their project.
